She was the devoted wife of Clifford Olsen for 22 years and after 44 years, they are finally together again. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cecelia Hillenbrand. She is survived by her sons Clifford E. Olsen, Dennis Olsen, Ronald L. Olsen, David T. Olsen; brother, Frank Hillenbrand; brother, Peter Hillenbrand; sister, Christina Fulton; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grand children. | 5604 | On August 29th, 2014, Joan lost her battle with cancer at the Hinton Hospital. Joan was comforted and surrounded by family and passed peacefully. Joan was known for her Vitality, Loving and Compassionate nature, Passion for Dance, baseball and Refusal to be evacuated in the Great Swan Hills fire of 1981, where she held her ground at the motel serving Firefighters. Our Dancing Queen will be sadly missed by Many Blessed to Have Known her. Joan is survived by her Life-mate Don Adam and her children: Jordan Iampen, Jordine North (Rod), Dallas Iampen (Adrianane Daniel) and six Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. Also survived her Siblings Twin sister Jean Dircks, Molly (Joe) Desrochiers and Bernice (John) Warchola. Joan was is predeceased by her Parents Ellef and Helen (Nellie) Stene as well as her siblings Ruth Carl, Richard Stene (Buddy) John Stene, Helen Patterson, Karole Devins (Adam) and a Granddaughter Patricia Grey Iampen. Joan was Blessed to have extended families, which included Trina Saby, Sheryl Adam, Angel Devins Brenda Webb, Daylene (Roger) Ernst, Crystal (Ken) Busch, Which includes another 8 Grandchildren 4 Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way. | 5605 | On March 9, 2017 at age 95, Edward Castiglioni died peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by family at home in Sonoma. He is survived by his son and daughter, seven loving grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, many wonderful nieces and nephews, and family members in Lucca, Italy. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, children Steve, Sheryl, Jerry and grandson Danny. Born in Half Moon Bay in 1921 to Italian immigrants, he grew up during the great depression, a farmer attending school in a one room school house. With the hardships of the time the family moved in 1931 to Pt. Reyes, with the hope that things might be better there. Again, they farmed artichokes, peas and sprouts on that difficult land, cold and sandy. Another one-room school house with the cow corral as a school yard. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and beachcombing along the beautiful Pt. Reyes seashore. He attended Tomales High School graduating in 1939. He then worked in family produce stores in San Francisco, and welding on the waterfront until he enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1942. Stationed first in La Junta, Colorado then to Calcutta, India to the Bengal Air Depot, where he maintained the airplanes bound for the China-Burma run. He loved his time in India and told many stories of his adventures there. Home to San Francisco, he was discharged in 1946. He met his lovely wife Doris, while driving cab in San Francisco. She was a waitress and he was the cabbie who drove her home after her shift. They were married in 1947. Raising children, Eddy, Vicki and Steve and two step children, Sheryl and Jerry, they celebrated 51 years of marriage before Doris died in 1998. Ed joined the SFPD in 1948. He spent most of his career at Central Station in North Beach. He endured the challenging times of the 60's and 70's, all the while making lifelong friends, enjoying the City and loving his job. He retired a Sergeant in 1976. Ed and Doris moved to Sonoma in 1982. They lived a wonderful life, making many friends and earning the respect of all who knew him. In retirement he took up golf, sporting 3 hole-in-ones giving him the nickname "Ace". He worked part time at the Sonoma Mission Inn Golf Course until the age 90. He also returned to his farming roots, providing his whole family with an abundance of produce grown in his yard. His yearly hunting trips to Tule Lake, with his notorious hunting buddies, Don, Bill, Al and Sara were a glorious time. He traveled to Italy a number of times, staying with family members in Lucca. These were treasured trips as he got to know his Italian family. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and handyman extraordinaire. He will be missed by his loving family who were so fortunate to have him for so many years. Truly a member of what has been termed, "The Greatest Generation," Ed will also be remembered as a Renaissance Man for his amazing creative abilities. A farmer, hunter, fisherman, carpenter, pipe-fitter, painter, blacksmith, bricklayer, electrician, plumber, welder, glazer, airplane & auto repair mechanic, body and fender man, to all of which he was dedicated to perfection. Most important, he was a family man and will truly be missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Leo's Church, Sonoma, April 1, 2017. | 5606 | Onalee Corrine Vincent, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Heartwood Homes Senior Living in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was born April 9, 1928 in Minneapolis Minnesota, daughter of the late Margaret Hadland Hartvikson. Onalee graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis Minnesota in 1946. She married Bruce Vincent on Valentine's Day 1948. They moved to Colfax after his service in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Bruce was the love of Onalee's life for 47 years. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1995. She goes now to be reunited with him for eternity in heaven. Onalee was a member of the Colfax Lutheran Church and belonged to the Ladies Aide - Esther Circle. She blessed her husband and children as a stay-at-home mom, and then later worked part-time as a nurse's aide at the Colfax Area Nursing Home for many years. After she retired, she continued to share her love for the residents by volunteering there. Onalee and Bruce delivered Meals on Wheels to the elderly in the Colfax area, and she later purchased the building that now serves as the Colfax Senior/Community Center. Onalee always had a kind smile and compassionate heart and enjoyed helping her friends and neighbors whenever she had the opportunity. She enjoyed visiting with them over a cup of coffee on the breezeway, and sometimes they would dance in her kitchen to "big band" music. She enjoyed playing bingo at the senior center and getting together with friends for a meal at the restaurant downtown. She especially enjoyed the company of the neighborhood children, passing out plenty of treats and hugs when they would come to visit. She also enjoyed the serenity of her own backyard, tending to her beautiful flower gardens full of butterflies and hummingbirds, and enjoying the companionship of the dogs, cats, and bunnies that she had adopted. Her family homestead was located in the cozy little town of Bayfield on beautiful Lake Superior. Her grandparents were the original Scandinavian immigrants who settled that area, and she cherished her annual trips there. She used to call Bayfield "her little piece of heaven here on earth". Onalee is survived by her daughter, Marjoree Vincent, Appleton, WI; son, Avery Vincent, Hartford, CT; three grandchildren, Cori (Sandie) Shearer, Kaukauna, WI; Brittany Leigh (fiance, Kyle Sellers), Appleton, WI; and Cortany Shearer, Appleton, WI; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Siena, Sydney, and baby Leigh/Sellers arriving in December. All our welcome to attend a brief graveside memorial service and burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax, WI with Pastor Les Walck officiating. A luncheon in honor and celebration of Onalee Vincent's life will be held at the Colfax Senior/Community Center (The Grapevine) immediately following the service. | 5608 | Orvis B. Sunsdahl, 80, of Soudan, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 in Tower. He was born on the family farm in Highlanding Township on May 28, 1938, the son of Emanuel and Frances (Hruby) Sunsdahl. He was raised as a child in Goodridge, MN, moved to Calumet, MN for several years before moving to Soudan, where he has since resided. He attended the local schools, graduating from Tower-Soudan High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Agnes "Penny" Pechek on August 16, 1958 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower. Orvis worked as a production truck driver for Reserve Mining Company in Babbitt for 27 years. After the closing of Reserve, he managed the Tower Auto Parts store for 15 years before retiring. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He was a great mechanic who could fix anything. He liked to tinker and always had some project going. He was always willing to help anyone. He especially loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed. Orvis was a past and active member of the Tower Lion's Club for many years. He was also a union steward for the United Steelworker's of America Local 4757 of Babbitt. He was in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953, Mr Kjorvestad lived and farmed in Lee Twp. all his life. He was a member of Valley Grove Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives are 3 sisters, Sigrid Kjorvestad, Aneta; Mrs. Lillian Sigdahl and Mrs. Thenora McCulloch, both of Minneapolis, Mn.; 2 brothers, Arne, Auburn, Wash. and Christ, Aneta, N.D. Born in Oslo, Norway on March 21, 1935, Inger moved to the United States in 1947, living in New York, Washington, California and London, England. Inger had an unparalleled love of life, music, literature and art, but most importantly, of her rich relationships with family and friends, especially her four grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, Sean and Benjamin, her three children, Lilly Edwards, Fred Hernandez and Eva Marie, her life partner, Mert Wallen and her brother, Eric Osteraa. Inger's indomitable spirit, grace and beauty touched and inspired many and leaves behind loving memories, hopes and dreams to be enjoyed by her friends and family. | 5613 | Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Roy Naevestad, went home to be with his Lord Jesus. He was a man who loved the Lord with all of his heart, and serving Him was his greatest reward. Roy was the son of Norwegian immigrants, Arne and Tergit (Olsen) Naevestad. Family hardships in the 30s led the family to live for a time with Uncle Ole and Tante Olava as well as Mr. Huseland, the baker. From him, Roy learned how to bake and decorate beautiful cakes. He enjoyed blessing others with cakes he had created well into his 80s. Roy studied electrical engineering at McKee High School in Staten Island. One of his teachers, Mr. Bill Olsen, invited him to his Sunday school class at the Bethelship Norwegian Methodist Church. It was at Bethelship that he grew in his faith, made lifelong friends, and met his wife Evelyn Thompson. Prior to his High School graduation ceremony Roy enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on the crew of the USS Earle in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, Roy enrolled at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute where he studied electrical engineering. He began his career at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill – moved onto Allied Chemical, Wilputte and then Krupp. Roy worked in the steel industry and holds several patents for the production of coke. While working for Krupp he made frequent flights to Germany, and made a point to try a new pastry each time. Although his career was a busy one, Roy always met the Lord in the morning to read the Word and to pray. Roy and Evelyn prayed together every night, kneeling together at the bedside until Evelyn could no longer get up from the floor. We depended on those prayers. Roy and Evelyn were married in June of 1950 at Bethelship by Evelyn's brother Rev. Garfield Thompson. It was Garfield's first wedding, and they loved to joke that "maybe he didn't do it right." They moved to Fanwood, New Jersey in 1952, where they were members of the Cranford Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Roy served on the board for years and was engaged in many ministries of the church. Roy loved to take the family camping in the Trim-line camper. Everyone was given a job so that all would learn to work together. Many trips were made to Canada, the Civil War battlegrounds, Cape Cod, the Jersey shore and Florida. He also loved to grill steak on the brick fire place that he made in the 50s. We ate on the picnic table which he made, that sat on the patio he had poured. He was a man who could do many things well. After retirement, Roy and Evelyn moved to their home in Speculator, NY where they had numerous friends and made many new ones. They had enjoyed and supported the ministry of Camp-of-the Woods since they had been married. They wanted to continue to enjoy and support that ministry as well as to provide a place for their family to enjoy it as well in future years. They worshipped at the Speculator United Methodist and the North Country Bible Churches and were involved as much as they were able. Roy also sang with the Adirondack Consortium and had cameo roles in several musicals, one in which he had to learn how to dance. In 2015, Roy and Evelyn, now needing additional care, moved to Wisconsin. Evelyn passed away shortly thereafter, but not before they had celebrated, according to Roy," 65 years of Wedded Blitz." Roy became a regular worshiper at St. Paul's Church in Davis, Illinois where his son Scott is the Pastor. The people of St. Paul welcomed Roy with opened arms and blessed him in these later years with cards, visits, and love. In addition to his wife Evelyn, Roy was predeceased by his brother Stanley. Roy's children, Carol Billings, (David), Glenn, (Jinny), and Scott, (Sue) are left to cherish his memory and the godly heritage that they have received. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Kristin VanderPyl, Bjorn, Leif and Hans Billings, and Kyle and Todd Naevestad. He leaves behind his 5 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Emelia and Clara VanderPyl, and Noah and Logan Billings. A celebration of Roy's life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at 11 a.m. at North Country Bible Fellowship (NCBF), Speculator, NY. | 5615 | PALMYRA: Eskild, Margaret M. (Moser); formerly of Palmyra, NY died peacefully on July 11, 2019 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Ellis Little, sister and brother-in-law Edith and Jack Kergan, infant sisters Dorthy and Julia, brother Paul and niece Gail (Moser) Eisenhardt and husband, Theodore "Ted". Born Feb. 13, 1929. Raised by parents, John William Moser and Helen May (Remaley) Moser, she attended Phillipsburgh High School (NJ) and upon graduation with honors in 1947, Margaret joined the legal staff of New Jersey State Senator Wayne Dumont law office. During a blind date in 1952 she met her beloved husband Theodore Eskild and they were married on March 25, 1953. 61 years and a day later Ted passed away peacefully at the Wayne County Nursing home. Taking a new position with Garlock Packing Corporation in Palmyra NY, Ted and Margaret relocated and spent the rest of her life working in the law offices of Henry Nesbitt and Paul T. Rubery. She was an active member of the Western Presbyterian Church, a number of civic groups which included Kings Daughters (Secretary), Girl Scout leader, and various Pal-Mac Central School class/home room mom positions for her children. All during her life she served the community and provided baked goods and other goodies for bake sales, pot-luck dinners and who could forget the annual Thanksgiving and New Years Eve parties at the Vienna St. house. Church activities included Sunday school teacher for kindergarten, acting elder, flower chairperson, wedding coordinator for 20+ years, usher, various committee positions and Woman's Association member for years. As a member of the Kings Daughters Organization she served over 20 years with 15 years of service as the group's secretary. She put her sewing skills to use as the seamstress for the C.A. Palmer Fife and Drum Corp making and altering their marching uniforms. She also led a group of band mom's that did alterations to the new uniforms for the newly formed Pal-Mac High School Marching Band. She is survived by daughter Amy Lynn, son-in-law Dr. Joseph Nardo and grand-daughter Sarah of Abingdon MD, sons Theodore E. (Tad), and Kirk of Ontario NY. Visiting hours are from 4-7pm on Fri. July 19th at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc, 123 W. Main St., Palmyra, NY. A memorial service will be held on Sat. Born Jan. 7, 1919 and raised by immigrant parents, Ingar and Elizabeth (Guttormsen) Eskild, he attended Manual Training High School and City College of New York. After duties as an air raid warning personell, Ted enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended pilot training school in Pensacola, Fl. He served aboard the escort carrier Manila Bay in the Pacific fleet during the fierce battle of Leyte Gulf. After the war Ted furthered his college education at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY earning a BS in Engineering. Upon graduation Ted took a position at Warren Foundry in Phillipsburg, NJ where during a blind date in 1952 he met the love of his life Margaret Moser who became his wife on March 25, 1953. Taking a new position with Garlock Packing Corporation in Palmyra, NY, Ted and Margaret relocated and he spent the rest of his life working at Garlock (37 years), being a member of Western Presbyterian Church, teaching for the United States Power Squadron (Red Jacket Chapter, 50 years), and acting as a course marshal at the Wegman's LPGA for 20 plus years. Ted is survived by his wife Margaret "Peggy" of Palmyra, NY; daughter Amy Lynn, son-in-law Dr. Joseph Nardo and grand-daughter Sarah of Abingdon, MD; sons Theodore E. and Kirk of Palmyra, NY and cousins and extended family in Norway. She grew up in Jersey City where she attended Briggs Grammar School and Jefferson High School, graduating in 1967. She continued her education at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. On September 13, 1969, Pam was united in marriage to Siegmund Pfeifer in Sparta, New Jersey. They made their home in Nicollet and Litchfield before moving to Paynesville in 2000. After her children were born, she enrolled at St. Cloud State University where she received her degree in Early Childhood Special Education and brought the Early Childhood Family Education Program to Paynesville. She retired in 2013. Pam was an active member of Paynesville Lutheran Church where sang in the choir, she also served on council, taught Sunday school and participated in Bible Study. She enjoyed young children, reading, family activities, spoiling her grandchildren, cooking and collecting recipes. Pam is survived by her husband, Siegmund of 52 years; children, Nicole (Paul) Johnson of Two Harbors and Eric Pfeifer of Blaine; and grandchildren, Joshua, Luke, Mallorie and Olivia. | 5625 | Per J. Navestad, age 98 of Burdett, NY passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 surrounded by family. He was born at home in Ozone Park, NY on January 17, 1925 to Peder and Dagny (Borgen) Navestad. On April 24, 1954 he married Doris L. Croker at Community Methodist Church in Ozone Park, NY. They raised four children at their home in Oceanside, NY. For the 25 years prior to moving to Burdett in 1987, the family spent part of every summer, at first, tent camping, and then vacationing at their country cabin in Tyrone that Per built. On the day before his 18th birthday, Per was sworn into the U.S. Navy. He attended Quartermaster School before being sent to the war zone. He took part in a dress rehearsal for D-Day codenamed "Exercise Tiger" the U.S. military's deadliest training incident during World War II. As Quartermaster 3/C he was stationed in the wheelhouse or control room of LST 499. He was steering the ship, taking orders from the officer who was on the bridge above him. Other LSTs were being torpedoed around him with very few survivors. He survived. Six weeks later was June 6th 1944, D-Day at Normandy. LST 499 dropped anchor and waited for instructions. Then on June 8th, Per was at the wheel again getting ready to transport wounded soldiers to England when the ship hit a mine and sank in shallow water just off Utah Beach. Once again, he survived. Exercise Tiger was a top-secret mission and for 40 years, news of the event was kept secret. It was only released to the public in 1984. After the war, Per became a union carpenter and worked in many different settings including new construction, remodeling banks, grocery stores, movie theatres and had a special opportunity to work on the Christian Science Pavilion at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. In addition to woodworking Per enjoyed being a photographer and in his younger years spent many hours in his dark room developing and printing black and white images. He moved on to shooting color film and then digital images. He grew many vegetable gardens over the years and his most recent gardening was spent in his raspberry patch. As a member of the Reynoldsville United Methodist Church he was involved with the planning and carrying out of several projects. For many years he was an RSVP volunteer at the Reynoldsville Food Pantry. He was also the one who carved the original wooden "Welcome to Burdett" signs. At the age of 80, with encouragement from Doris, and long before "aging in place" was popular, they made a decision to build an accessible home where they could live out their years. The family - Bob, Eric, Per, and Wendy made this dream come true. Per mostly coached during the framing process but was a large contributor to the inside finish work. At 86, he taught himself the art of fan-carving and carved intricate birds from single pieces of wood. He sold his birds at many craft fairs around the area. He was a man of few words, but very detailed with pencil and paper. He was never without a writing implement and a pad to jot down whatever he was working on or thinking about. His favorite style of shirt were those with two pockets and room for a pocket protector in each. He had beautiful penmanship and was a stickler for neat numbers. Anything that Per built had to be "sufficiently overbuilt" in order to be good enough. Per enjoyed his family and the frequent, four-generation family gatherings celebrating holidays and birthdays. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and GG-pa who will be missed by all. A part of him will live on in the many handmade creations he leaves behind. He received loving care from his daughter Wendy; son-in-law Bob, who was more like a son; granddaughters Amy and Lori; and great granddaughter Juliet. In his final weeks, the CareFirst team of Robin, Brandy, Sam, Patsy, Erin, and Amanda provided additional care. Thanks to Shannon Slater of Schuyler County Office for the Aging for the years of caregiver support. There will be no visitation or formal services. He also devoted himself to Elmbrook Youth Church groups, Sports Ministry and Mission work, as well as many other organizations. Loving husband of Cynthia (nee: Faulkner). Devoted father and best friend of Bryan James and Stacy Nichole. Adoring grandfather of Alexis Leigh. Loving son of Jean Madson and the late Norman `Pete' Madson. Cherished brother of Tom and Greg. Son-in-law of Richard Faulkner and Nancy Faulkner. Brother-in-law of Christi Faulkner. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, many friends, and business assoicates. He was preceded in death by brother, Carl; and three sibling infants. Funeral services will be held at Elmbrook Church, 777 South Barker Road, Brookfield, on Thursday evening, May 21, 1998, at 7 p.m. Place and time of interment on Friday to be announced at the Memorial service. | 5628 | Philip Lehenbauer Obituary Phil Lehenbauer died at the age of 93 on April 22, 2023 in Vancouver, WA. He was born in Reno, NV, to Hannah and Dr. Philip Lehenbauer in 1929. After graduating from Reno HS in 1948, he attended Oregon State University 1948-1950 and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He is a Korean War veteran who served in the US Navy 1950-1954. Phil returned to OSU and completed his BS in Fish & Wildlife Biology in 1956. Upon graduation, he worked as a wildlife biologist for the US Fish & Wildlife Service managing national wildlife refuges, living in Fort Peck, MT, Othello, WA, and Corvallis, OR, before moving to regional offices in Portland in 1966. His accomplishments included adding species to the federal endangered lists and developing recovery plans for endangered species until his retirement in 1984 after 33 years with the USFWS. Throughout his life Phil enjoyed golfing, duck hunting, fishing, clamming, gardening and birdwatching. In his later years he was still an avid OSU Beaver fan, Trailblazers fan, active in the American Legion, and spent time with his grandkids. Philip is survived by his daughter, Cara Schmitt (Ed) of Vancouver; daughter, Lyn Ortiz (Patrick) of Camas; and son, Ted Lehenbauer of Moses Lake; and four grandchildren: Dr. Alexa Ortiz (Joe) Durham, ME; Melani Ortiz (Alex) Chicago, IL; Andrew Schmitt, Seattle; and Katelyn Schmitt, McMinnville. Born in New Brunswick to the late Hilton Alexander and Dorothy Marie (Kupper) Christie, she has been a lifelong resident of the township, having been raised by her mother Dorothy and step-father Louie Marinelli. For thirty-two years, Lucille worked for the Piscataway Board of Education. She enjoyed crocheting Afghans and building doll houses where she donated them to charities. Lucille loved gardening, puzzels, reading and adult coloring books. Lucille was formerly active with St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway and was a President of the Rosary Society. With the help of parishioners, Lucille was able to beautify the church and helped organize bake sales and flea markets. She was a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader and formed four cheerleading squads for the church's CYO basketball. Predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years; Joseph, and son-in-law James Cerami, Lucille is survived by her loving family; son Michael and his wife Leanna of Florida, son Robert and his wife Dawn of Piscataway and daughter Janet Cerami of Monmouth Junction. She also leaves behind her grandson William Hillsinger and his wife Elizabeth of Gladstone, granddaughter Michele Johnsen of PA and great-grandchildren; Henry Hillsinger and Grace Johnsen. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. | 5640 | Rae Adelaide Ackerman, 93, of Daytona Beach Shores passed away on May 5th at Port Orange Hospice to be with the Lord. Rae was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 11th, 1918. During WWII she worked on B-17 bombers at the Boeing plant in Burbank, CA. Rae then left her job at the defense plant to join the Navy and become a WAVE. She was a pharmacist mate second class and drove ambulance picking up the wounded soldiers at the Navy docks. Rae then got stationed in Hawaii. After the war Rae got married to Herb and they settled in Paramus, NJ. There she enjoyed being a housewife and raised her two daughters, Liane and Leslie. In 1964, Rae moved to Pompano Beach, FL where she enjoyed many years as an avid tennis player. In 1984, she moved to Daytona Beach and resided in Pelican Bay where she enjoyed many years playing golf. In December of 1995, she moved to Daytona Beach Shore. Rae worked for Weight Watchers for many years and was president of the 49's of Daytona Beach Golf Club for 2 years. She was also president of the WAVES National for 2 years and in 2010 she flew to Washington DC. with the Honor Air of Volusia County. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed snow skiing in her younger years. Rae is preceded in death by her daughter, Liane Rae Adams and sister, Lois Peddler and her brother, Henry Carlsen. She is survived by her husband, Irving "Herb" Ackerman; her daughter, Leslie Eichler (Michael); grandchildren, Christopher Eichler (Myrna), Lani Sullivan (Brian) and Logan Eichler (Shammy); as well as her 4 great-grandchildren, Braden Sullivan, Brison Sullivan, Linden Eichler and Mason Eichler. Rae was a long time member of St. James Episcopal Church, Daytona. A memorial service will be at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 216 Orange Ave. Daytona Beach on May 15th at 4:00pm and will be interred at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Dr., Faribault. Inurnment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park Columbarium. Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church. A teacher and an inventor, Dick spent his life loving and encouraging others. Many have said it was he who inspired pivotal moments in their lives. Dick was born in 1937 to parents Otto and Hannah Amelia Sunsdahl of Stephen, Minn. He attended elementary and junior high school in Walnut Grove, Minn. Eventually, the family moved to Litchfield, Minn., where his father owned the John Deere Implement dealership, and Dick worked servicing tractors for local farmers. Dick graduated from Litchfield High School in 1955. While still in high school he joined the National Guard, which he proudly served in until 1962. He enrolled at St. Cloud State University, where he received degrees in industrial arts and psychology. He later received a Master's Degree in education from Mankato State University. Dick was a devoted educator, teaching high school industrial arts and then college machine tool technology. His 23-year career at the South Central Technical College included being named the Minnesota State Technical College Teacher of the Year in 1994. Dick's passion for people and tools was always present in the many activities he enjoyed. He served on many manufacturing, educational and civic organizations, including 10 years as a member of the Faribault City Park and Recreation Board, president of the Faribault Flyers Bike & Ski Club, and a longtime member of the Rice County Steam and Gas Engine Club. As an active church member, Dick felt especially blessed and proud to have served as a volunteer in the Befriender Ministry for 14 years. Dick will be fondly remembered for his positive outlook, his enthusiasm for life, his laughter and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He was a strong believer in physical fitness, having completed 13 marathons, and he felt that a sense of humor and a healthy lifestyle were keys to enjoying life. One of Dicks' greatest passions in life was his love of John Deere tractors. He spent many hours restoring antique John Deere tractors. This led Dick, along with his son Thad, to invent and sell several tools for restoring antique tractors. This small business has become very successful with sales around the world. Dick's love for restoring and showing tractors brought him to events across the country where he made many lifelong friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, May, brothers Norman Sunsdahl and Lawrence Sunsdahl, and nephew, Greg Sunsdahl. In addition to his wife, Elaine, he is survived by son Thad Sunsdahl of Faribault, daughter and son-in-law Chantelle and Scott Theisen of Medina, Minn., grandchildren Hannah Theisen, Jackson Theisen, Joseph Theisen, Cole Sunsdahl, and many treasured nieces and nephews. He received his Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. He was a veterian of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr Hansen was a plant manager for Allen Bradley Co. for 35 years. He was CEO of Maghemite, Inc. in Prot Cartier, Canida and a consultant for GM after retirement. He was a member of St John Lutheran Church for many years, American Legion, Lions Club, and currently a member of St Paul's United Methodist Church. He had lived in Shawnee since 1973. His parents, wife and a son, Jeffery Scott Hansen, preceded him in death. He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Susan Hansen of Milwaukee, Wis., Steven Hansen and fiancee Martha Beckman of Aledo, Texas, Doughlas and Daneen Hansen of Ardmore, Peter and Linda Hansen of Kingston; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John Robinson of Shawnee; 11 grandchildren, Krista and Matthew Hansen Steven Michael Hansen, Eric Robert Robinson, Jeffery and J.D. Hansen and Jennifer Sweet, Amber, Bradley, Aaron and Mary Hansen; three great-grandchildren, Kayli Sweet, A.J. The casket will remainopen at the funeral home until moving to the church and will not open for the services. Mrs. Perry's first husband, Richard L. Graham died in September, 1953. She married Morris B. Perry February 4, 1961 in New Brunswick, Canada. The couple moved to this area in 1962. For over 16 years, Mrs. Perry was employed as a medical technician and later worked as a private duty nurse. She enjoyed camping with her grandchildren. A member of the Good Sam Club, she camped at Sandy Shores for 27 years as well as in various other Maine and New Hampshire camp grounds. A 3-week old daughter, Sonya Mae Perry, predeceased her. Mrs. Perry is survived by her husband of 42 years, Morris Perry of Rockland; two daughters, Cindy Kilgore and her husband Bruce of Rockland, Robin Mahoney and her husband Steve of West Rockport; two sons, Robert Graham and his companion Becky White of Warren, Richard Graham of Rockland; one sister, Ruth Berry of Bangor; five grandchildren, Heather Kilgore, Kaylee Kilgore, Ryan Mahoney and his wife Gretchen, Darren Mahoney, and Shawn Graham. | 5650 | ROCKLAND — William T. Dean Jr., 71, a lifelong resident, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center Oct. 16, 2016. Billy was predeceased by his father, William T. Dean Sr., and his mother, Alice H. Dean. He is survived by his only sibling, Claire Perry, and many loving cousins who shared happy childhood memories with him. Pamela Vose and Teddi Silva are two cousins from both sides of the family that were especially close and dear to him. A graduate of Rockland District High School, Billy was well known for his musical genius as a highly gifted keyboard player. His instrument of choice was the organ, and he lived his life to delight and share this gift with others. He was always happiest when he was making other people happy with his music -- from jobs playing with the recognized horse-show circuits, all over the state of Maine and beyond, to several well known and unique dining establishments, such as the Whitehall Inn in Wiscasset and The Tugboat in Boothbay Harbor. Billy loved the ocean and he loved jazz. He made gatherings with family and friends special with his extraordinary talent, even unintentionally delighting people on nearby anchoring boats as he played music from his cottage on the beach ... old-time melodies drifting out over Owls Head Harbor for all who cared to enjoy. Billy has left behind a musical legacy that delighted and inspired people and fellow musicians of all ages. His good nature and his beautiful music will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family will be holding a celebration of Billy's life at a future date.
