5651	Ronald T. Stauss, 76, of Baudette, MN and formerly of East Grand Forks, MN passed away at home on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Ronald Theodore Stauss was born on March 5, 1939 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Jacob and Viola (Sunsdahl) Stauss. The family lived in East Grand Forks, MN, where Ron attended school and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School. After high school, Ron attended the University of North Dakota as part of his trade school training where he became a Licensed Master Plumber. Ron married his high school sweetheart, Linda Evanson on July 15, 1961 at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church in East Grand Forks. Following their marriage, they made their home in East Grand Forks. For many years, Ron was employed with Lunseth Plumbing and Heating in Grand Forks, before joining the Pipefitters Union. As a pipefitter, he worked throughout the region until his retirement in 2001. After retirement, Ron and Linda moved to Baudette MN. While living at Lake of the Woods, Ron enjoyed attending his grandchildren's hockey, football and volleyball games. He especially loved being asked to take them on out of town sporting trips when their parents weren't able. Some of Ron's greatest joys were hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and tinkering in his garage. Throughout his life, he made many friends with whom he enjoyed making annual hunting and fishing trips. One of Ron's best traits was his desire to help people out whenever he had the opportunity. He was truly a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ron will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda; children, Jill (Tim) Mack, Roosevelt, MN William (Roberta) Stauss, East Grand Forks, MN; his dearly loved grandchildren, Cody, Jake and Josh Mack and Coby and Kylie Stauss, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Viola Stauss and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Percy and Lillian Evanson. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, 528 10th St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN. 5654	Ruth A. Johnson, 79, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Ted (H. Theodore) and the devoted loving mother of Carolyn, David and Laura, passed peacefully on Friday, August 30th. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 11, 1933, daughter of the late J. Thorgier and Gladys Anderson, daughter-in-law of Hartvig and Anna Johnson. Ruth was educated in Brooklyn, studied law and speed shorthand. She worked as a legal secretary for prominent law firms in NYC and Hartford. At retirement, Ruth ended her career with the Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company. Ruth loved music and the piano and was a talented and accomplished player. She took lessons for many years and studied with noted pianist Kathleen Buswell. Churches in both NY and Connecticut were privileged with her playing and accompaniment of their choirs. In Brooklyn, NY, Soccer was a prominent sport. Sunday afternoon was a gathering time for European teams to play and compete. It was at one of these occasions that Ruth met Ted. They dated, fell in love and married in October 1955. In January 1956 Ruth and Ted moved into their newly constructed home and have lived there together for 58 years. Their three children were born there, Carolyn, David, Laura, educated in Glastonbury and subsequently married with children of their own. Carolyn's family in Denver, CO, Laura's family in Williamsburg, VA and David lovingly cares for his father Ted at home. At a young age Ruth attended and was a Sunday school teacher in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Later she and Ted were members of the Evangelical Free Church and First Church in Wethersfield, CT. Ruth was totally devoted to her family, holiday occasions and spent many enjoyable years camping in New Hampshire. She visited with family in Norway and traveled with Ted to the Alps and Austria. Ruth is survived by her husband Ted and their children's families; Carolyn and Mark Wieber, grandchildren Nicholas, Kristen, Alec, and Jaclyn. Laura and James Brunson, grandchildren Victoria and Christopher. David Johnson, Sr., devoted son and caregiver, also grandson David, Jr. Ruth also leaves behind brother-in-law Kenneth Christiansen and his children Louise, Ken Jr., and Lynn Joy, plus their partners and children. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her two sisters Joan and Thelma. Friends may visit and attend a period of visitation on Thursday, September 5th, 2013 from 11am-1pm at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk., Glastonbury, CT. 06033 followed immediately by a Celebration of Life Service at the funeral home and burial in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. 5655	Ruth Mae Ludwig Fahrenfeld passed away on August 20th, 2019 in Newton. Daughter of the late Effie (Diven) and Arnold Ludwig, she was born on June 10, 1922 in New York, NY. Ruth was married to her Army sweetheart, Warren W. Fahrenfeld on July 8th, 1943 at the Army Chapel in Spence Field Army Air Corps Base, Moultrie, GA. They were married for 70 years before Warren's passing in 2013. They resided in North Bergen, Clifton, Toms River, and Franklin. After marriage, Ruth was a homemaker for many years and worked as a sales manager in women's clothing. After Warren's passing, Ruth resided at the Bentley Assisted Living in Branchville, where she was lovingly cared for. Ruth is survived by her three loving sons: Warren and his wife Elaine of Little Falls, Kenneth and his wife Jane of Ogdensburg, and Robert of Franklin; her sister, Edythe Weller of Mountaintop, PA; brother-in-law Belford Fahrenfeld from Maryland; as well as her nine beautiful grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, who all adored her. Visitation for Ruth will be held on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 from 11AM to 1PM at the Ferguson— Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ 07462. Ruth was born to parents Joel and Ethel Moore on July 14, 1928 in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Dr. Larry D. Baker, son: Jay Phillip Baker, sisters: Melba Morrison and Catherine Wise and grandsons: Jesse Harbin and Tanner Tutwiler. Ruth is survived by her son: Jeff (Diane) Baker of Ponce Inlet, Fl, daughters: Janet (Lee) Harbin of Mt. 5661	SAND CREEK — Mildred Hendrickson, age 85, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born the 10th of 11 children, on January 15, 1919, in the town of Sand Creek to Hans and Julia (Peterson) Berg. She married Harvey Hendrickson on April 23,1946, in Sand Creek. Mildred spent her entire life in the Sand Creek area. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage, and making delicious lefse was oneof her specialties. She loved to cook and bake and was always ready forfriends and relatives to stop by for coffee. She raised three children; but in her later years, she worked at ABC in Chetek and was the senior nutrition site manager in Sand Creek. She was the past president of the Sand Creek Civic Club, was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary, and of Running Valley Lutheran Church in rural Colfax. She is survived by one son, Duane (Mary) Hendrickson of Menomonie; one daughter, Lynda Roth of Sand Creek; one granddaughter, Kris (Doug) Erickson of Eau Claire; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Cassidy Erickson of Eau Claire; one sister-in-law, Agnes Berg of Chetek. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; one son, James Hendrickson; six sisters, Eleanor Berg, Bertha Adkins, Jemina Madison, Ellen Anderson, Esther Huset and Gilma Brenholt; four brothers, Albert, Raymond, Clayton and Gilman Berg; 18 brothers- and sisters-in-law; one nephew; one great-great-niece; and many friends. Mildred is now united with her Lord and her family and is lonesome no more. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek with Pastors Barb Koch and Mark Skogerboe officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church in the town of Sand Creek, Dunn County. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the church. 5662	Sandra Anderson, age 83, of Kentwood, formerly of Big Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 1, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Anderson; parents, Elmer and Eleanor Abendroth. She is survived by her children, Julie Werner, Scott and Linda Anderson, Dayna and Dan Gemzer; grandchildren, Chris and Jenny LaVallee, Greg and Danelle LaVallee, Derek and Leslie Anderson, Jeremy and Heather Anderson, Wendy Gemzer and Misty Kerr, Brian and Samantha Gemzer; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Terry and Paula Abendroth; brother-in-law, Alan and Sherry Anderson; 2 nephews and several cousins. Sandra was a County Clerk at the Big Rapids District Court for many years. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren on the Muskegon River. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, crafting, and spending winters in Florida with Judson. A memorial service for Sandra will be held on Saturday, September 7, at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Mark Lutheran Church, 1934 52nd St. SE Kentwood, MI 49508. 5663	Sawyer County Gazette May 7, 2014 "Yesteryears" column April 26, 1989 Owen Madson, Sr., age 72, of Radisson, died Sunday, April 16, 1989 at the University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Owen was born Dec. 11, 1916, at Radisson, the son of Herman and Julia (Anderson) Madson, Sr. He attended and graduated from Ladysmith Schools. On May 15, 1944, he married Majken Ekeblad in Florida. They lived in St. Louis, MO, until 1960, moved to Waukesha for one year, lived seven years in Waterford, and lived in Genesee prior to moving to Radisson in 1978. He was involved in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked in maintenance in a Brookfield High School. Owen was a member of the Dave DeRosia American Legion Post 297 at Radisson and the First Presbyterian Church of Radisson. Survivors include his wife, Majken; two sons, Owen Jr. (Susan) of Saukville, WI; Glenn (Lou Ann) of Shorewood, WI; five grandchildren; a brother Norman of Caledonia, WI, and three sisters, Edythe Madson of Radisson, Nina Racette of Findlay, Ohio, and Margaret Anderson of Eau Claire, WI. 5666	SCHWARTZ, Leonard "Lenny" 5/ 6/1946 - 3/22/2016 SCHWARTZ, Mary 9/26/1948 - 3/21/2016 Loving husband and wife. Lenny from Minneapolis, Minnesota and Mary from Iola, Wisconsin. Lenny and Mary raised three children, Mark, Thomas, and Stephen, to be compassionate, creative and intelligent adults who made their parents proud. As a beloved couple they brought a joy to their community through their work, he as a middle school principal, and she as a nurse in Hastings, MN. They fostered a spirit of faith and family and always had time to offer a kind word or a kind act to brighten someone's day. This spirit continued when they retired to Tucson, AZ where they remained dedicated to good works and enjoyed spending time with their six grandchildren and Catholic community. Their passing leaves great heartache, but the many lives touched by their kindness are grateful to have known these generous souls. They will be deeply missed. Burial will be in the Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Mr. Loy, who died Wednesday in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, was a millwright machinist for Hercules Inc. in Parlin for 13 years before retiring in 1993. He served in the Navy during peacetime. He was a member of the Morgan Hose & Chemical Co., Exempt Fireman's Association, and the Raritan Bay Association, Sayreville. An avid ham radio operator, his call letters were W2JJL. Born in South Amboy, Mr. Loy lived most of his life in Morgan.
