- OSTERAA, Inger Cherished grandmother, mother, sister, wife, friend and inspirational counselor, Inger Osteraa O'Brien passed away on August 5, 2004. Born in Oslo, Norway on March 21, 1935, Inger moved to the United States in 1947, living in New York, Washington, California and London, England. Inger had an unparalleled love of life, music, literature and art, but most importantly, of her rich relationships with family and friends, especially her four grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, Sean and Benjamin, her three children, Lilly Edwards, Fred Hernandez and Eva Marie, her life partner, Mert Wallen and her brother, Eric Osteraa. Inger's indomitable spirit, grace and beauty touched and inspired many and leaves behind loving memories, hopes and dreams to be enjoyed by her friends and family. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Inger Foundation will be gratefully accepted. "My wish is to inspire cancer patients through education and research, leading to the management and ultimately, the eradication of this disease.
